So today I walk in my apartment door and my roommate has this worried/ridiculous look on her face. I looked at her and said, “What the heck did you do obviously it is something bad!” Her response “I think I lost the mail key! I’m not exactly sure where I put it! I was cleaning then I went out to throw away the trash and grabbed the key to check the mail. Then when I got to the mail box I realized I didn’t have the key so I am guessing it is in the dumpster.” I just busted out laughing! I could not believe she actually throw the mail key in the dumpster. How does that happen! Yes we can not get our mail for a couple of days but it is just a ridiculous story you just have to laugh it off. You know those times where you could be mad but you just have to laugh and it is fine. I love those kinds of moments! Moments when things happen that you would never think would actually happening!
Social media is huge in the world today. Most people have some kind of social media that they use everyday. Do people in middle school, high school, and college realize how important social media is in todays world? My opinion is teens and even adults do not realize what they post on social media cites does make an impression on how people perceive them. For me I do not go on facebook very much any more because so many people feel like they need to put what happens hour to hour in their lives on facebook or twitter and to be honest I do not really care. Also some people put things on facebook that I think is private stuff that the whole world really shouldn’t know. For example, the other day a girl I know announced on facebook that she was pregnant. She had not told our boss or her parents, which she is friends with on facebook. She decided it would be a good idea to just tell everyone on facebook for the first time. There were so many commons of people yelling at her, amazed by her, and happy for her. Her parents even commented on her post and my boss was stunned after she saw it. I do not think people realize what they are even doing when they put things on facebook. In some instances it can effect what job they get and how people perceive what kind of person they are. I think there should be some kind of agree people have to sign saying you can only post so much a day and on things you should not post. I wish there was a way to make people understand that posting certain things will effect them in the future and present.
Yesterday night I attend a Louisville Bats baseball game. It was only the second game I have ever been to at the bats stadium. I am from Northern Indiana so I am a White Sox fan. I used to go to the game all of the time at least a couple times each summer. Baseball runs in my family. My dad played baseball through college and my brother did through high school and one year in college. So I grew up watching baseball with my family so I think going to any baseball game is a lot of fun. They just bring back a lot of great memories that I have had with my family. Every baseball game is a new experience. If you have not or ever get the chance to go see a baseball game go. Hopefully it will be a great experience for you like it always is for me!
Yesterday I made a youtube video. I have never really made or even recorded myself on video before. I not a big fan of being on camera. But I took one for the team and was the broadcaster for out group yesterday. Yes at first I was pretty nervous and kept messing up then the more I started doing it the more comfortable I felt on the camera. We filmed a lot for just a two minute video. I figured it would be longer then just a minute after we put it all together but we did have some complications after we filmed a lot of it. We realized that the speaker was not even on and we lost a lot of footage because he did not have sound. It was really frustrating at first but all we can do it learn from our mistakes.
I actually started to enjoy being on camera. And today I got to film someone else the whole time it was a lot of fun. Hard then I expected to get all the right angles and trying not to move the camera so much but a lot of fun. My online journalism appointment class has been such a great experience and it has only been four days. I can not wait to see what else I learn and get to experience.
Everyone is always saying how they wish they could be a celebrity one day. But is being a celebrity really worth it? I was reading a couple articles online talking about all of the lawsuits celebrities get thrown at them. Most of them were not true but some of them were. Every little bit of a celebrities life is right in the open for everyone to see. It is hard for them to get any sort of privacy or to stay out of lawsuits. The most recent one I have look at is the lawsuit going on with John Travolta. He is getting sued for sexually assaulting two male massage therapists. Are these people just trying to get his money or did he really go do these. Well the whole world knows he might have done this so their whole perspective of him might have changed because this issue even if it is not true. Yes even not celebrities have these kinds of issues but they are not in the open for the whole world to see. So is having a lot of money worth all of the publicity worth it. To me I do not think I could deal with everyone getting in my business all the time and trying to just get my money.
Many people look for new vacation spots they can go to but not a lot of people know where to go. Most people have not heard very good things about Aruba. People have no idea how beautiful the island is and how nice the locals are. My family has friends that have a vacation home in Aruba so my mother and I decided to go visit them one year then the next year we went back again. It was just a great experience. The water is so clear and the sand is white or pink in some parts of the island. They locals were always so nice to us and very talkative. They made us feel that we were really welcome. There is so much that you can do while you are in Aruba. You can go scuba diving, horse back riding, snorkeling, wind surfing, beach bumming, shopping, and many other things. It is such an amazing island that if you ever get the chance to visit I would highly recommend it. It will be one of the best experiences that you will have. So if you are looking for a new vacation spot in the Caribbean visit Aruba!
